ROMAN BRONZE FIGURINE OF VENUS ANADYOMENE. Ca. 100 BC - AD 100. A bronze figurine of Venus Anadyomene, depicted nude with the left leg crossed before the right. Both arms are raised, her hands gathering and wringing her long tresses at either side of her head, which is crowned with a diadem. Her head turns gently to her left and the softly modelled torso tapers to full hips. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number 2012,5024.82. Size: 150mm x 70mm; Weight: 975g Provenance: Property of a Swiss collector; Ex Swiss collection 1990's. This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy.
