ROMAN MARBLE TORSO OF VENUS AT THE BATH.
Ca. AD 200. A marble nude torso of Venus, carved with full breasts, a softly rounded abdomen with a recessed navel, and broad hips tapering to sturdy thighs. The figure turns slightly through the waist, with the weight set through the lower body. The back is smoothly modelled, with the spine lightly marked above the rounded buttocks, and three locks of hair falling over the upper back.
