BYZANTINE MODEL OF A BASILICA OR PALATIUM.
Ca. AD 500 - 700. An architectural model in the shape of a two-storey Basilica facade, with an open central bay and flanking colonnades. The lower level has rectangular openings divided by columns, with staircases at each end. Arched openings flank the central bay above, and a larger arch rises from the roofline. The arches are bordered by voussoirs.
