COLLECTION OF ROMAN BRONZE YOKE AND HARNESS FITTINGS.
Ca. AD 150 - 250. A collection of bronze yoke and harness fittings, including, from top to bottom: a pair of fittings with hollow square sockets above disc terminals; a pair of strap distributors of circular openwork form with cross-shaped motifs flanked by peltae, each with trapezoidal strap guides at the sides; nine rings, including five with a square pin, two plain examples, and two with a ring suspended beneath a disc; and a square pin with a flattened spherical head above a tapering shaft.
