RARE SAXON IRON ARMOUR. Ca. AD 700 - 1000. An iron lamellar armour composed of numerous rectangular plates, each pierced with attachment holes and with a scalloped outer edge. Size: 510mm x 470mm; Weight: 1.37kg Provenance: Property of a Swiss collector; Ex Swiss collection 1990's. This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
