BRONZE AGE / EARLY GREEK PERIOD BRONZE SWORD.
Ca. 1200 - 800 BC.
A bronze sword with a long blade tapering evenly to a sharp point, with a strong midrib running down the centre. The hilt is slender, with a waisted moulded grip and a nearly spherical pommel ending in a small knop.
Size: 565mm x 55mm; Weight: 460g
Provenance: Private UK collection; previously part of an Oxfordshire ancient art collection; acquired from a Canadian collection formed prior to 2000
