HUNGARIAN STEEL CAVALRY SABRE. Ca. AD 1700 - 1800. A steel sabre with a long, curved single-edged blade tapering to a clipped point, with a narrow fuller following the back edge. The hilt has a straight crossguard, a knuckle bow joining the pommel, and a downturned grip. The forte is decorated with engraved motifs. Size: 800mm x 120mm; Weight: 615g Provenance: From a private London collection; private German collection, 1980s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
