Description
SUPERB SUMERIAN BULL BRONZE PROTOME WITH INLAID EYES.
Ca. 2600 - 1350 BC. A bronze bull head protome with short curving horns, rounded ears and a broad projecting muzzle. The eyes are inlaid with white stone and lapis lazuli, set beneath sharply arched lids. A row of curled locks runs across the forehead, and the beard falls in a long rectangular panel ending in a line of rounded curls.
