EGYPTIAN BRONZE FIGURINE OF APIS BULL.
Late Period to Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 664 - 30 BC. A bronze figurine of an Apis bull standing on four straight legs, with a compact body, a broad chest, and the head held straight, with recessed eyes and short horns. The tail hangs free behind. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 17.190.62. Size: 115mm x 85mm; Weight: 425g Provenance: From a private London collection; earlier held in an old family collection formed over the period 1960s–2000. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
