Description
PAIR OF EGYPTIAN BRONZE FIGURINES OF OSIRIS. Late Period to Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 664 - 30 BC. A pair of Egyptian bronze figurines of Osiris, each depicted mummiform with the arms crossed and holding the crook (heka) and flail (nekhakha), wearing a long braided beard and with tenons below for insertion. The figure on the left wears the White Crown of Upper Egypt. The figure on the right wears the atef crown, with the White Crown flanked by plumes and a uraeus rising at the front. Size: 75-80mm x 18-22mm; Weight: 55g Provenance: From a private London collection; earlier held in an old family collection formed over the period 1960s–2000.
