LARGE GREEK PERIOD BRONZE ZOOMORPHIC HANDLE FROM VESSEL.
Ca. 500 BC. A cast bronze zoomorphic handle in the shape of a stylised animal forming an elongated shaft. The head is rendered with a projecting muzzle flanked by raised forelegs, the lower section with hind legs above a triangular attachment plate pierced for fixing. Size: 320mm x 85mm; Weight: 705g Provenance: From a private UK collection; earlier purchased on the London art market in the 1980s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
