Description
COLLECTION OF GREEK RED-FIGURE VESSELS.
Ca. 400 - 300 BC.
A collection of three red-figure vessels, including, from top to bottom: a Xenon ware epichysis with a spool-shaped body, a tall strap handle, a cylindrical neck and oblique spout, the shoulder painted with vine tendrils between registers of white strokes and dotted ornament; and two lidded lekanides on low stems, each with a domed lid and knop, painted with female heads in profile alternating with radiating palmettes.
