ETRUSCAN (or later) PHALLIC AMULET WITH APOTROPAIC MASKS.
Ca. 300 BC. A hollow terracotta phallic amulet with a cylindrical shaft, rounded glans, and paired testicles. The broad circular base is set with raised apotropaic masks around the rim, each rendered with simple facial features. A further mask appears on the shaft beneath the glans. Size: 160mm x 130mm; Weight: 480g Provenance: Private London collection; Ex London art market, 1989s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
