SUPERB LATE ROMAN BLUE GLASS AMPHORISKOS.
Ca. AD 300 - 500.
A translucent pale blue amphoriskos with a cylindrical body with concave sides, decorated with spiral ribs, below a short neck and a folded rim. Two applied handles in darker blue glass rise from the shoulder to the rim.
Size: 125mm x 70mm; Weight: 70g
Provenance: Private UK collection; acquired on the London art market; previously in the collection of D. Ruskin, Oxford, 1990s.
