Ca. AD 200. A bronze eagle standing on a rectangular base with its wings spread and its head turned to the right, killing a snake coiled around its neck and trailing down the back. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number 1772,0303.1000.a. Size: 110mm x 90mm; Weight: 440g Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Germany; formerly with C. E. Schultze collection, Munich, late 1980s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
