ROMAN SILVER BOWL WITH ZEUS AND GANYMEDE.
Ca. AD 200. A silver bowl with a broad shallow body and a plain rim, centred by a circular medallion in relief depicting Ganymede beside Zeus in the form of an eagle. Restored For similar see: Christie's Live Auction 4925, Antiquities, Lot. 192. Size: 155mm x 40mm; Weight: 150g Provenance: From a private UK collection; London art market purchase; earlier with the Parthenon Gallery in the 1990s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
