COLLECTION OF ROMAN AND GALLO-ROMAN BRONZE FIGURINES AND A VENUS APPLIQUE.
Ca. AD 100 - 300. A collection of five bronze objects, including, from left to right: a dolphin with a sinuous body, a circular eye, a short dorsal fin, and a spreading tail; a lion recumbent with the forelegs extended and the tail curled around the hindquarters, the raised head with a broad muzzle, open mouth, and an incised mane framing the face; a dog standing with the legs set apart and the head turned slightly to one side, with a compact body, a short muzzle, and pointed ears; an applique in the form of the head of Venus within a circular frame, with a rounded face, large drilled eyes, small lips, and centrally parted hair arranged in smooth waves, the reverse plain; and the forepart of a wild boar with the forelegs extended, the head with a broad snout, open mouth, and prominent tusks.
