MESOPOTAMIAN BRONZE MACE WITH STONE INLAID HEAD.
Ca. 2200 - 1500 BC. A bronze mace with a long cylindrical shaft, a discoid foot, and a globular head with triangular cells inlaid with alternating red and white stone, surmounted by a flat disc knop. Size: 420mm x 75mm; Weight: 575g Provenance: Private UK collection; acquired in France; formerly with A.D. 1970s–1980s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
