GREEK PERIOD BRONZE LOBED OMPHALOS BOWL.
Ca. 500 BC. A bronze bowl with a broad, shallow body and an everted rim. The underside is chased with seven radiating pointed rays alternating with tear-shaped lobes around an omphalos. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 64.56. Size: 215mm x 55mm; Weight: 265g Provenance: From a private UK collection; earlier purchased on the London art market in the 1980s. This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy.
