PAIR OF DAUNIAN TERRACOTTA BICHROME VESSELS, BROCCA AND KYATHOS. Ca. 550 - 400 BC. A pair of terracotta bichrome vessels, from left to right: a brocca with globular body and short neck beneath a broad, collar-like mouth, the tall vertical handle rising behind and terminating in a horned, mask-like element with pierced eyes and geometric ornament in panels; and a kyathos with shallow bowl, the upright handle formed as a twin-horned finial, the exterior with banded fields and reserved panels in red and dark brown, the interior painted with a four-pointed motif.
