Description
GREEK RED-FIGURE SESSILE KANTHAROS WITH LAUREL LEAVES.
Ca. 450 BC.
A red-figure sessile kantharos with a deep cup on a low ring base and a pair of vertical loop handles. The rim is painted with a narrow band of short linear strokes. The upper body is encircled by a branch with leaves and berries between reserved lines above a running wave. The reverse is decorated with an ivy tendril, similarly framed.
