Description
GREEK BLACK-GLAZED GUTTUS WITH RIDER AND HORSE.
Ca. 400 - 300 BC. A black-glazed guttus with a flattened circular body, fluted around the perimeter, on a moulded foot. A tall tubular mouth and a vertical loop handle rise from the shoulder. The upper surface is centred by a recessed roundel moulded in relief with a mounted rider above a fallen figure. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 1972.11.3.
