PAIR OF GREEK HOPLITE BRONZE SPEARHEADS.
Ca. 800 - 500 BC. A pair of bronze spearheads, from left to right: a spearhead with a leaf-shaped blade and pronounced midrib, descending to a short tubular shank from which extends a long tang with a hooked end; and a spearhead with a long narrow blade and a strong medial ridge running to a rounded point, the shoulders tapering into an integral tang with a hooked terminal. Size: 410-420mm x 45-50mm; Weight: 1kg Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Belgium; previously held in a Netherlands collection dating to the 1970s–1980s.
