PAIR OF DAUNIAN AND CYPRIOT TERRACOTTA VESSELS WITH GEOMETRIC DECORATION. Ca. 330 - 300 BC (askos), Ca. 1800 - 1600 BC (jug). A pair of terracotta vessels, from left to right: a Daunian askos with a rounded body, an upright spout with a flat-topped rim, an arched strap handle, and a false pointed spout, painted in dark brown with horizontal registers of wavy bands, scrolls and linked motifs; and a Cypriot jug with a globular body and a tall cylindrical neck beneath a pinched mouth, the single handle drawn up from the shoulder to the rim, the body painted with vertical panels of bands alternating with zigzag lines, and the neck with horizontal stripes.
