LATE ROMAN GLASS JUG. Ca. AD 300 - 400. A bichrome free-blown glass jug with a translucent colourless body, and a dark blue trail below the rim, ribbed handle, and applied foot ring. The vessel has an elongated ovoid body, a tall cylindrical neck, and a broad funnel mouth. For similar see: A. Antonaras, Ancient Glass in the J. P. Getty Museum, Cat. 302. Size: 150mm x 70mm; Weight: 80g Provenance: Private UK collection; acquired on the London art market; previously in the collection of D. Ruskin, Oxford, 1990s.
