ROMAN PROVINCIAL MARBLE HEAD OF A MAN.
Ca. AD 1 - 300.
A marble portrait head of a man with a broad face, a heavy jaw, and a thick neck. Beneath thin brows, the heavy-lidded eyes frame a straight nose, and the full cheeks descend to a small, closed mouth. The hair is carved in textured locks across the crown and brought forward in a rounded fringe above two shallow creases on the forehead.
