COLLECTION OF HELLENISTIC OR ROMAN BRONZE HEADS OF GODS.
Ca. 100 BC - AD 100.
A collection of three bronze heads, including, from left to right: Venus with an oval face beneath a veil drawn over the head and falling in long folds at the sides; Zeus with deeply set eyes, face framed by abundant curling hair and a full beard; and Ulysses with a conical cap above a bearded face, the hair and beard rendered in dense incised locks.
Size: 30-35mm x 25-28mm; Weight: 145g
Provenance: Private London collection; ex German art market, 1980s.
