LARGE COLLECTION OF ROMAN AND BYZANTINE TERRACOTTA OIL LAMPS. Ca. AD 1 - 500. A collection of nine mould-made terracotta oil lamps, each of leaf-shaped or circular form with a central filling hole and a rounded nozzle, some with decoration around the perimeter or on the recessed discus, and a rear lug handle of triangular or rectangular profile. Size: 75-120mm x 60-75mm; Weight: 895g Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Switzerland; formerly with C.B. collection, 1970s–1990s.
