ISLAMIC TINNED COPPER VESSEL AND COPPER BOWL.
Ca. AD 1300 - 1600. A pair of vessels, from left to right: a tinned copper vessel with a broad rounded body, a short waisted neck, and an everted rim, decorated with a wide calligraphic band at the neck above a narrow scrolling border and a frieze of palmette motifs; and a shallow bowl with a rounded wall and plain rim, encircled by bands of calligraphic and vegetal ornament within narrow borders. Size: 155-190mm x 65-115mm; Weight: 1.24kg Provenance: London private collection; Germany acquisition; ex Toussaint collection, Holland (1980s–1990s).
