Description
LARGE ANATOLIAN TERRACOTTA JAR WITH QUADRUPEDS. Ca. 1500 BC. A large terracotta jar with a globular body and a short neck culminating in an everted rim. The exterior is covered in a red-brown slip. A band of intersecting motifs encircles the shoulder, and three roundels decorate the body, each enclosing a stylised quadruped within a dotted border. Size: 225mm x 205mm; Weight: 2.25kg Provenance: London private collection; Switzerland acquisition; ex Geneva collection, late 1980s–early 2000s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
