PAIR OF CHINESE TERRACOTTA FEMALE MUSICIANS.
Tang dynasty, Ca. AD 618 - 907.
A pair of terracotta female musicians, including, from left to right: a seated figure in a pale upper garment and red skirt, holding a konghou upright at her side, with the hair dressed in a high coiffure with double knots and red lips; and a seated figure in a pale robe with a flaring skirt decorated with scattered floral motifs, holding a wind instrument before the chest, with the hair gathered in a high topknot.
