EGYPTIAN SANDSTONE STATUE OF A STANDING WOMAN Old Kingdom, Ca. 2686 - 2181 BC. A sandstone figure of a standing woman set against a rectangular back pillar, her arms lowered at her sides and the feet placed together on an integral base. She wears a close-fitting ankle-length dress and a broad wig falling to the shoulders in finely carved horizontal rows. A necklace encircles the upper chest. Her face has large almond-shaped eyes beneath gently arched brows, a broad nose and full lips set in a slight smile.
