GREEK RED-FIGURE KYLIX WITH ATHLETES Ca. 450 BC.
A red-figure kylix with a flared foot, short stem, shallow bowl, and twin squared handles. The interior tondo depicts two nude athletes within a reserved circular field, enclosed by a meander border. The exterior is decorated with further athletes between large palmettes and scrolling tendrils. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number 1850,0302.2.

Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in France (early 2000s); previously in a Swiss private collection formed during the 1980sÐ1990s.
