Description
HELLENISTIC BRONZE RHYTON WITH IBEX PROTOME Ca. 350 - 250 BC. A bronze rhyton with a flaring mouth and a long curving horn-shaped body tapering to an ibex protome at the terminal end. The rim is everted and set above a narrow banded collar. The lower section is cast in the form of the forepart of an ibex, with the head facing forward, a pointed muzzle, almond-shaped eyes, upright ears, long recurving horns, and a pendent beard.
