Description
CAMPANIAN RED-FIGURE AMPHORA WITH LADIES OF FASHION - TL TESTED Ca. 340 - 330 BC.
A red-figure amphora with a broad flaring mouth, cylindrical neck, ovoid body tapering to a short stem and spreading foot, and two vertical loop handles joining the shoulder to the neck. A large palmette decorates the neck, and a band of tongues encircles the shoulder. Both sides depict the profile head of a lady of fashion wearing a sakkos, earrings and a necklace, framed by scrolling tendrils and palmettes.
