Description
GREEK SILVER-GILT KANTHAROS WITH OPENWORK HANDLES AND GEOMETRIC DECORATION Ca. 400 BC.
A silver-gilt kantharos with a deep, waisted body, flaring rim, and low foot. Gilt bands encircle the upper and lower body, decorated with incised geometric and foliate motifs between beaded borders. Two openwork handles rise from the lower body to the rim, each formed from slender rods with knopped finials.
