CHALCIDIAN BRONZE HELMET WITH CHEEKPIECES Ca. 500 - 300 BC.
A helmet of hammered bronze. The domed crown has frontal median ridges and a contoured double curve above the brow, continuing as an occipital rib around the helmet. Movable crescentic cheekpieces with contoured edges are attached by hinges at the sides. For similar see: The Walters Art Museum, Accession Number 54.2468.
