GREEK CHALCIDIAN HELMET WITH CHEEKPIECES Ca. 500 - 300 BC. A bronze Chalcidian helmet with a domed skull and an offset horizontal band running around the circumference at brow level. The face is framed by two high-arching eye openings and a central nose guard. Large elongated cheekpieces are attached along the lower edge by a row of small hinges, and the rear rim extends down to form a shallow neck guard.
