Description
BRONZE AGE / EARLY GREEK PERIOD BRONZE DAGGER WITH BONE INLAID POMMEL Ca. 1200 - 900 BC. A bronze dagger with a long tapering blade and a narrow point. A thick midrib runs along each face of the blade. The guard is short and straight. The grip is recessed between raised flanges and inlaid with pale bone, and the hilt ends in a D-shaped pommel with matching pale bone inlay. Size: 430mm x 40mm; Weight: 335g Provenance: Private UK collection; previously part of an Oxfordshire ancient art collection; acquired from a Canadian collection formed between the 1970s and 2000. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
