Description
BRONZE AGE / EARLY GREEK PERIOD BRONZE DAGGER WITH STONE INLAID POMMEL Ca. 1200 - 900 BC. A bronze dagger with a triangular blade tapering to a sharp point. The guard is crescentic, with short terminals curving around the blade shoulders. The cylindrical grip is ribbed throughout its length and terminates in a crescentic pommel inlaid with stone. Size: 445mm x 80mm; Weight: 470g Provenance: Private UK collection; previously part of an Oxfordshire ancient art collection; acquired from a Canadian collection formed between the 1970s and 2000. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
