Description
BRONZE AGE / EARLY GREEK PERIOD BRONZE SWORD WITH DISCOID POMMEL Ca. 1200 - 900 BC.
A bronze sword with a long narrow blade tapering evenly to a point. Three central ribs run along both faces of the blade. The cylindrical grip is decorated with ring mouldings and ends in a discoid pommel.
Size: 565mm x 70mm; Weight: 885g
Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Belgium; formerly in Dr. Roozendaal collection, The Netherlands, 1970s-1980s.
