BRONZE AGE / EARLY GREEK PERIOD BRONZE SWORD WITH STONE POMMEL Ca. 1200 - 900 BC. A bronze sword with a long blade tapering to a narrow point. Two ribs extend along the blade from the shoulders. The arched guard follows the line of the shoulders and continues into a straight cylindrical hilt with two ring mouldings, terminating in a hemispherical stone pommel with a central knop. Size: 580mm x 90mm; Weight: 980g Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Belgium; formerly in Dr. Roozendaal collection, The Netherlands, 1970s-1980s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
