BRONZE AGE / EARLY GREEK PERIOD BRONZE SWORD WITH STONE POMMEL Ca. 1200 - 900 BC.
A bronze sword with a long, narrow blade tapering to a fine point. The blade has a thick midrib running from the shoulders towards the tip. The guard is rounded, framing the base of the blade. The straight hilt ends in a pale stone pommel with a pointed oval profile.
Size: 670mm x 65mm; Weight: 710g
Provenance: Private London collection; formerly in M. Ebnother collection, Switzerland, 1980s.
