HITTITE BRONZE SWORD WITH CRESCENTIC POMMEL Ca. 1500 - 1200 BC. A bronze sword with a long tapering blade, a narrow point, and a penannular guard. The cylindrical hilt is decorated with two raised chevrons and rows of raised rectangular bosses, ending in a crescentic pommel with inward-curving arms. Size: 515mm x 80mm; Weight: 500g Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Belgium; formerly in Dr. Roozendaal collection, The Netherlands, 1970s-1980s.
