Description
BRONZE AGE / EARLY GREEK PERIOD BRONZE SWORD WITH CONICAL POMMEL Ca. 1200 - 900 BC. A bronze sword with a long tapering blade, straight cutting edges, and a narrow point. Three ribs run along the blade from the shoulders. The guard is broad and collar-like above a cylindrical grip, which ends in a conical pommel incised with linear bands and pierced for inlays. Size: 620mm x 55mm; Weight: 775g Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Belgium; formerly in Dr. Roozendaal collection, The Netherlands, 1970s-1980s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
