EGYPTIAN BRONZE DAGGER WITH LAPIS LAZULI POMMEL AND TURQUOISE INLAYS New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A bronze dagger with a broad blade tapering to a point and a central midrib running from the shoulders towards the tip. The guard is formed as a short collar with compact side terminals above the hilt. Rows of turquoise inlays decorate the grip within a textured frame, and the hilt ends in a blue lapis lazuli mushroom-shaped pommel. Size: 355mm x 75mm; Weight: 420g Provenance: Private UK collection; previously part of an Oxfordshire ancient art collection; acquired from a Canadian collection formed between the 1970s and 2000. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
