RARE HITTITE BRONZE DAGGER WITH OPENWORK HANDLE Ca. 1500 BC.
A bronze dagger with a broad blade tapering to a sharp point. A strong central ridge runs through the blade, flanked by long shallow channels. The hilt is cast with a short guard with pointed lateral projections and a slender openwork grip, terminating in a crescent-shaped pommel.

Provenance: UK Private Collection; Ex. UK Art Market; Ex. Peter Schnell collection, 1970s-early 2000s, Switzerland, acquired in Swiss art gallery in 1970s.
