MEDIEVAL VIKING PERIOD IRON SWORD Ca. AD 750 - 950 . An iron sword with a long, straight double-edged blade tapering to a rounded tip, with a central fuller. A compact short guard separates the blade from the narrow grip. The hilt ends in a mushroom-shaped pommel, with cross-hatched decoration on the guard and pommel. For similar see: I. Martens, E. E.
