RARE LIFE-SIZE ROMAN MARBLE BUST OF SENATOR Ca. AD 100 - 200. A life-size marble bust of a senator, possibly Brutus with an oval face, deeply set eyes beneath prominent brows, a straight nose and firmly closed lips. Short hair is carved in layered, curving locks across the crown and temples. A short beard follows the cheeks and jaw, with individual strands continuing beneath the chin. The neck descends to the upper chest, with the edge of a garment visible across the shoulders. For similar see: Musei Capitolini, inv. MC1183.
