EASTERN ROMAN MARBLE HEAD OF YOUNG WOMAN Ca. 100 BC - AD 100. A white marble fragment carved as the head of a woman, with waved curls at her forehead divided by a double twisted-rope headband and ending in rows of curls gathered at the base of her neck. The head and neck follow a slight S-curve, with a slightly upward gaze and pierced ears. The features resemble antique portraits of Empress Pompeia Plotina (AD 65-121), wife of Roman Emperor Trajan (AD 53-117). Accompanied by a modern custom-made display stand.
